Who is Joaquin Castillo?

Our founder Joaquin Castillo is a lifelong upholstery industry professional.  After enjoying the sunshine and relaxation in Florida, he started the Castillo Upholstery Service. Joaquin did this to connect his passion with the community.  He desired to not only repair and create beautiful upholstered furniture but also teach newcomers in the industry.

Since he was little, at the age of six to be exact, Joaquin began his apprentice work in the Dominican Republic. Can you believe that by the time he was thirteen, Joaquin was no longer an apprentice! He had dedicated himself to his trade. Soon Joaquin became a Master at an early age because he was a gifted individual. At that, at a young age, was well-versed in the upholstery market.  So how is he a ‘Master’? Well, that’s simple he can teach his skills to others and have them become effective upholsters themselves!

Today, over 50 years later, Joaquin and his wife, Elena, are providing excellent upholstery services for the highly demanding customers.

Therefore, our founder established this business in Florida in 1996, alongside his wife Elena. Since then, our company has converted many pieces of furniture that were about to be thrown out into beautiful refined pieces. This focus on quality has made numerous pieces of upholstered furniture into worthy conversation pieces.  The re-upholstered is customized to be a highlight piece in any room of a customer's home or office.

Furthermore from customers wanting to ‘save’ a precious piece of family furniture to customers needing a  quality finished product that they could be ‘proud to show off’. Joaquin and Elena have turned many tired and aged pieces of furniture into fine / couture furniture.
